My brother and I have (or had) homes in Pass Christian Isles. We have not heard anything about the conditions there. We are assuming everything is gone. Does anyone know?

i think a good way to get people out of the devestated area is to put together a "project adopt a family". have people agree to take in families from around the county. have planes fly them out of that area to people that will adopt them and that will lessen the amount of people there. funds can be set up to have people flown around and settled in other areas.
people interested can go to a specific website and post there information. they can start by taking people out of the astrodome to make room for the next batch of people! this would help to reduce the volumes of people in that area.

Steve you are right it is INSANE. I blame 90o/o on the GOVERNMENT and 10o/o on the people themselves. I just do not understand why the local and state gov. are sitting around waiting for the feds to do something. Do it your self. These THUGS that are out there is insane. The Gov and Mayor's should be pulling all resourses and stops to stop this. With these people (thugs) shoot and answer questions later. The only thing these people deserve is a 38 accurately

Sadly i think the best way to get action on this would be to somehow attach it to terrorism. I'm sure that's been said plenty already...

I was in Bay St. Louis during hurricane Camille so I know what devastation looks like. This has gone beyond devastation, this is tragic because people who were thankful to be alive after Katrina passed are dying anyway from exposure, starvation and hunger (neglect). But I have good news. Our president and his family slept in doors last night, are getting three meals a day and had thier showers this morning. This is not meant to be humorous , I AM ANGRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am sorry that I don't have much info. The only thing I have found is a site that will show the vast destruction. You may find it depressing. This site gives current satellite closeups of the area: alt.ngs.noaa.gov/katrina

It will take forever for you to get in. When you get into the site, click on the link for your area. It will give you the option to download a 99MEG ZIP file that has about 50 or so jpegs that you can view.

Go tot his website - there are loads of images from Bay St Louis area. Apparently this gut made it there and shot all of this - maybe you will see something / someplace you can judge your area from. God Bless and I hope you have good news soon.
